Wool Cottage Directions

If you are using the app, what3words, for navigation, the words ///lookout.snooping.fountain will take you to the property. If using SatNav, the postcode to a neighbouring property, so we would advise guests to follow the directions below upon reaching the village of Shilbottle:

 

From Alnwick/A1 North– From the town of Alnwick, follow the A1068 towards the A1/Morpeth. As you exit the town you will see a M&S Foodhall store upon reaching a roundabout, the first exit From the A1 North/South exit at the junction for the B1340 signposted Newcastle/Morpeth/Shilbottle/ Lionheart Ent. Park. Take the first right hand turn signposted Lionheart Ent. Park/Shilbottle. -

 

From the A1 North, stay on the A1 heading north until you see an exit for the A1068 signposted Alnwick/ Alnomuth/Ashington. Upon taking this exit, take the second left hand turn signposted Lionheart Ent. Park/Shilbottle. Follow the road until you arrive at a T-junction, take the right hand turn towards Shilbottle. After approximately 0.4 miles you will arrive at the village of Shilbottle. Take the first right hand turn onto North Side. You will pass a handful of properties on your right before reaching a field with more properties beyond.

 

Wool Cottage is the first property in this next row of cottages opposite an old-fashioned drinking fountain. Turn down into the gravelled lane between the field and the cottage to reach the parking at the rear of the property.

 

From the A1 South – Travelling towards Alnwick on the A1, approximately 14 minutes north of Morpeth you will pass a left hand turn signposted Longframlington/Newton on the Moor followed immediately with a right hand exit signposted Shilbottle, pass this turning as well and instead continue on the A1 for approximately 0.8 miles, taking the second right hand exit signposted Alnmouth/Shilbottle which you will reach.

 

Follow this road into Shilbottle Village, keeping on it as you travel through the village. You will pass a stone bus shelter and a post box on your right followed by an old-fashioned drinking fountain. Wool Cottage is the last cottage in the row just beyond this fountain on your left hand side. There is a narrow gravelled lane between the cottage and the neighbouring field, turn in here to access the parking to the rear of the property.
